SustainableTrip.org aims to provide savvy travelers, tour operators, and travel agents with a comprehensive, credible listing of tourism destinations that are not only beautiful, but also benefit the communities, flora and fauna they will be visiting.
Our database features hotels, tour operators, and other businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean that have been certified by independent, third-party sustainable tourism certification programs, verified by the Rainforest Alliance, or recommended as being sustainable by reputable organizations.
Our search results are displayed in the following order: certified businesses are listed first, followed by Rainforest Alliance verified businesses, with those businesses that are recommended to participate in the site appearing last.
The certification, verification, or recommendation of each business is confirmed by SustainableTrip.org staff before it is added to our database. The information featured on each business profile is submitted directly by business owners, and updated once each year.
