The Sarapiquí Conservation and Learning Center (SCLC) located in the the tropical lowland region of Sarapiquí Costa Rica works to link local communities to conservation and sustainable development through education and tourism. Our tourism activities include rural community tourism activities and ecotourism activities. Our center helps put nearly $20,000 into the pockets of local families, as well as plants at least 1000 trees a year, and completes nearly 70 community service projects annually. We also help to provide resources school supplies to our local youth and have a scholarship program for aspiring students to improve their education. We conduct environmental education courses for 4 local schools and are the local office of the San Juan - La Selva Biological Corridor. Other educational offerings at the SCLC include English classes, after-school program, a computer lab, a public library and a local artisans' gallery.
