In addition to the hotel grounds, 247 acres (100 hectares) of protected rainforest on the banks of the Napo River belong to the lodge.

Our guesthouses offer complete ecological comfort. All rooms and suites have terraces, private bathrooms with hot water, fans, orthopedic mattresses, cotton bed-sheets, and towels. Wastewater does not go in the river.

Making a Difference

Number of employees: 5

Percentage of local employees: 80%

Our efforts to conserve the environment and to contribute to biodiversity are reflected in the protection of 556 acres (225 hectares) of primary and secondary rainforest. In this area we prohibit hunting and cutting down trees.

We minimize environmental impacts by using only biodegradable products, saving energy by using low-energy light bulbs, eliminating unnecessary night-time lighting, separating waste and recycling as much as possible, conserving water, and using septic tanks for black and gray waters.

We contribute to local sustainable development by purchasing our supplies from local communities and using local services. We sustain the well-being of local people by employing and training them, and we help local people by assisting with medical problems.
