Cancun is one of the main international tourism destinations in Mexico. Along its 19 miles of beach, it has an array of attractions that range from pre-Hispanic vestiges and ancient hacienda ruins, to a modern marine park where visitors can go snorkeling and admire hundreds of multi-colored fish that live on the reefs. Nearby is Cozumel, Mexico’s largest island, where visitors can enjoy kayaking through the exuberant mangroves and diving on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest in the world, which includes the Cozumel Reef National Marine Park and the Chankanaab Nature Park.
A short way away, toward the state capital city of Chetumal, there are numerous attractions that comprise the Maya Riviera. There, visits can be made to the archeological areas of Cobá and Tulum, the only walled city on the coast; to Carmen beach, the cosmopolitan heart of the Maya Riviera; and to the Xcaret and Xel-Há ecotourism parks and the Sian Ka’Kan Biosphere Reserve, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa has developed programs to reduce its carbon footprint. Our equipment is tested daily to ensure that it meets local and federal regulations for carbon emissions.
Other hotel initiatives include the installation of LED light bulbs and the placement of electric sensors and timers in strategic areas, which have successfully reduced energy consumption. There is also a campaign to recycle plastics and aluminum, which has collected more than 12,000 pounds of recyclable materials. Guests can also participate in the recycling projects, using the trash bins that are strategically placed throughout the hotel for the disposal of plastic bottles and aluminum cans; they can also help reduce energy and water consumption. Staff of the Explorers Club have created special ecological activities for guests' children aged 3-12 years old, in which they learn to respect and care for their environment in a fun way.
