This attractive hotel was built on an underground geothermal system in the municipality of Zunil, home to Guatemala's major hot springs. We use that system for our saunas, which together with the sulfur hot springs, provide a medicinal tourism destination that is complemented by an architectural design that is both functional and traditional, incorporating details typical for the region. The result is a pleasant ambiance perfect for relaxing and enjoying views of the surrounding mountains.

Our internal regulations inform personnel and outside contractors not to become alarmed when they see wild animals on the grounds, since they aren’t invading our space, rather we have invaded theirs. We recognize that they are part of our area’s ecological biodiversity and that we must therefore protect them.
We work with the local community by providing funds for cultural and social activities and a place to sell their woven goods – the typical handicraft in our area, which is home to the Chiché Maya, who still weave their traditional clothing. We also help them sell their vegetables, which they grow year-round, and donate the use of our conference room for their trainings and meetings.
As part of our environmental program, Las Cumbres uses biodegradable products, separates garbage, and takes steps to save water and electricity. We neither consume threatened wild animals, nor do we participate in their trafficking. We do not hire minors and we oppose the sexual abuse and trafficking of minors and sexual tourism.
