Getting There

Nearest international airport: Belize City (BZE)

Nearest local/national airport: San Pedro (SPR)

Travel time to nearest airport: 7 minutes

There are a few ways for you to get to the Island from Belize City:

  • You can fly out of the international airport (BZE) to San Pedro (SPR). A ticket from the International Airport is $68.75 (USD) per person one way, $128.50 round trip. Flights depart every hour at 40 minutes past the hour beginning at 7:40am, with the last flight departing at 5:40pm. Flight time is 15-20 minutes. This is by far the most convenient, comfortable and scenic way to travel to the island.
  • You can take a taxi from the international airport to the municipal airport. A taxi ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around $30. Cost for a one way ticket from the Municipal Airport is $40 per adult ($75 round trip) and $31 for children ages 2-11 ($58 round trip). Flights depart every hour at 30 minutes past the hour beginning at 7:30am with the last flight departing at 5:30pm. Flight time is 15-20 minutes.
  • The most cost-effective option is to take a taxi from the international airport to either the Caye Caulker Water Taxi Terminal, the San Pedro Water Taxi Terminal, or Water Jet Xpress Terminal. The taxi ride is about 30 minutes. Cost for a one-way water taxi ticket is $12.50-15 per person. Departure times to San Pedro from Belize City are 8am, 9am, 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm (CCWT schedule) and 7:30am, 9am, 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm (SPWT schedule). The boat ride takes about 75 minutes. Please note, the boat ride can be long and bumpy.

Of course, you can combine any of the above options (i.e. come over on a water taxi, return via air).

When you arrive in San Pedro, take any taxi from the air strip or water taxi terminal to Xanadu and we will pay the taxi driver upon your arrival.

If you would like us to book your island flights either from the international or the municipal airport, please forward your international travel itinerary and the names of all passengers traveling and we will be happy to do so. For water taxi reservations, please contact Caye Caulker Water Taxi Association, San Pedro Belize Express, or San Pedro Water Taxi.

If you do decide to take the water taxi, please let us know which taxi you will be on and/or what time your international flight arrives in Belize City, so we know what time to expect you in San Pedro and at Xanadu.
