As a participant on one of our tours, you will contribute directly to conservation through a donation to the Pure Earth project, which was created with a goal to conserve the natural and cultural resources of Nicaragua. It has three main focuses:
Reforestation
In 2011, the Pure Earth project will begin a reforestation program in the Leon and Chinandega regions of Nicaragua.
Forest Conservation
Forests are the cornerstone of the climatic balance upon which we all depend. Therefore, we believe it is vital to protect what we already have. The Pure Earth project aims to protect primary rainforests on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua.
Local Conservation and Social Development
In collaboration with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua, León (UNAN-León), the Pure Earth project's primary focus in 2010 is on conservation efforts within the Isla Juan Venado Reserve. Projects such as sea turtle conservation and mangrove reforestation are a high priority.
